Letters: Why not wind up TECT and pay everyone out? 22 Feb, 2021 09:00 PM Quick Read A reader says shutting down TECT could give 49,000 households money for solar. Photo / Getty Images Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. Photo / File 150221NZHMMPOSTCAB9.JPG I have read through the TECT proposal, it tells me winding up is not in the spirit of the trust deed. However, having read that deed I cannot see why winding up the trust is not in the best interests of the trust beneficiaries. Would the trust please explain? Based on the trust being worth $450 million and 49,000 beneficiaries - that is $9000 each, enough for a good solar system on 49,000 households.

NASA s Mars Perseverance rover beams back first sounds ever recorded on another planet By Sophie Lewis NASA rover sends video and audio from Mars NASA s Perseverance rover, which landed on Mars less than one week ago, has beamed back the first-ever audio recordings from the surface of the red planet. NASA released the audio clips Monday, along with never-before-seen video footage of the rover landing last Thursday, and the most sophisticated images yet taken of Mars. Along with 25 onboard cameras, the rover also carries two microphones. One failed to work during the rover s descent, but the other captured the sounds of the Martian wind blowing past, as well as the whirring noise of the rover itself.
